I recently was contact by Cathie. She was feeling less than confident about her ability to command her vessel (power) into and out of her slip. We spent about an hour together performing departures and landings into her slip. We went over the characteristics of her particular boat and how to recognize and control drift, momentum and how “neutral is her friend”. We reviewed and worked on the concept of bumping the propeller forwards and in reverse and how to position her helm to get the boat to behave how she wanted. After our session, she said she felt much more comfortable taking the boat out by her self and with Non-Boater friends. It was a pleasure working with her. I wish her much luck and enjoyment with her beautiful boat.
